Base Configuration
The base configuration includes the following modules:

Bridge
EQRoute has two Ethernet10/100 auto-sensing ports, that acts as a bridge, therefore no IP topology change is required to install on the network. A "Fail-to-Wire" module is available as an Optional Extra.

Traffic shaper
Guaranteed minimum bandwidth provided by class.
Maximum guaranteed bandwidth: Enables network managers to limit the amount of bandwidth allocated to all configured classes, preventing bursts and reducing network congestion.
A powerful feature of EQRoute is the ability to "borrow" bandwidth. If a class is not using its bandwidth then other classes can "burst" or "borrow" that unused bandwidth until that class needs to transmit again.
Each Traffic class is guaranteed a CIR (committed information rate) of specified bandwidth. This allocation of bandwidth is the minimum that this class will receive during load conditions.
Traffic can be managed on the following criteria:
Source IP, Destination IP, IP Protocol, IP port (both source and/or destination) and now also packet content. This is the latest technique enable comprehensive "nailing" of any type of traffic on an IP network. For example Peer-to-peer network downloads and mail from defined domains. This gives the administrator total control over used bandwidth.

FAIL-TO-WIRE card
This card gives the extra protection against loss of connectivity under system failure or power cut. This card simply joins the input Ethernet cable with the output cable under these circumstances.

WAN Routing
Delivers up to 8 X21 WAN connections or 2 x TI/EI depending on bandwidth requirements e.g.
2 X21 WAN ports = 1 x 512kb and 1 x 2048kb
4 X21 WAN ports = 2 x 512kb and 2 x 2048kb etc.
